Founded in 1975, USA Rugby is an official member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Rugby Board (IRB).
The organization has approximately 90,000 members and is responsible for the development of the boys, girls, high school, collegiate and club rugby programs, and ultimately all of the national teams representing the U.S. in international competitions.
The current structure of USA Rugby comprises seven Territorial Unions (TU) and 34 Local Area Unions (LAU) that compete for regional and National Championships.
USA Rugby's national headquarters is located in Boulder, Colo., and is run by full-time staff under the direction of current CEO and President of Rugby Operations Nigel Melville.

What CIPP Covers
USA Rugby is excited to announce that it will continue to offer accident coverage to all registered members participating in sanctioned events. A sanctioned event is a game or practice where all participants are registered.
The new policy for the 2012-2013 membership cycle is effective as of August 15, 2012. Nationwide is the new insurance carrier for this policy which will provide the same policy limits as last year.

The new Nationwide policy will include the following changes this year:
- $1,500 deductible for those with primary coverage
- $3,000 deductible for those without primary coverage
- 80/20 co-insurance limit for costs in excess of deductible
- No coverage for travel
- Claims will be submitted to USA Rugby for verification prior to submission to carrier
- Pre-approval for non-urgent medical care is required
